Not at all. GPS satellites are made available. Once you buy the hardware, it costs nothing to operate.
Dealing with the answers below ... GPS satellites were launched and supported by the government for military purposes. Thus, our taxes have already paid.

Check with your dealer.
I doubt they get to offer a free service, after all the money to operate the satellite. On the other hand, could be wrong.
