Maldives - Honeymoon island with all the benefits of Taj Exotica/Conrad without the cost? - taj honeymoon maldives

I'm getting married in December 2008 and really want to go to the Maldives for the honeymoon. I would like to know the average cost of flights from the UK (London) to the Maldives.
At the time !!!!! I cited 5400GBP 9 nights in the Maldives - but still in Taj Exotica
Someone knows how and where to get cheap flights to and what they should and advice on how to get cheap honeymoon. And can recommend cheaper islands / resorts and hotels, but unique / romantic as a category Taj / Conrad!
I have an Indian wedding spent most of my money on my wedding only ;-)
